Warehouse, storage and pre-pull near the Port of Houston
When your dock can't take a container before its last free day, we pull it from the terminal and hold it. The box waits at our Houston yard, or the cargo goes into our warehouse until you need it.
The problem: free time runs out
Every import container gets a few free days at the terminal. After the last free day, storage charges start, and they add up by the day. Meanwhile your warehouse may be full, your receiver may not have an appointment open, or the cargo may simply not be needed yet.
A pre-pull solves that. We pull the container from the terminal before the last free day and hold it near the port. When your dock is ready, we deliver.
Three ways to hold your cargo
- Pre-pull to our yard. The container leaves the terminal on time and waits at our Houston yard, still loaded, until delivery.
- Warehouse storage. We unload the container into our warehouse, return the empty, and release the cargo when you need it.
- Transload. We unload the container and load the cargo onto a trailer for the next leg. See transload in Houston.
Which one makes sense depends on how long the cargo will wait and where it goes next. Tell us and we'll suggest the simplest option.
How we know when to pull
We track the last free day on every container we handle, using data straight from Port Houston's terminal system. Boxes close to their last free day are flagged each morning. That gives you time to decide: deliver now, pre-pull, or move the cargo into the warehouse.
"Last free day is tomorrow" should be something we tell you, not something you tell us.
Receiving and release
When cargo comes into our warehouse, we take photos at receiving. When it goes out, we take photos at release. If a question comes up later about how something arrived or left, there's a record.
You can release cargo in full or in parts, to one address or several. Tell us what you need in the notes on the quote form.
Why near the port matters
Our Houston yard and warehouse are near the Port of Houston. A short run from the terminal means the pre-pull happens fast, the empty goes back fast, and you aren't paying for a long round trip just to buy time.
Because the same team runs the drayage, there's no handoff between the trucker and the warehouse. The container status, the last free day, the pre-pull, the storage and the final delivery all sit on one shipment. See how our Houston drayage works.
